The National PTA's 2011-2012 Reflections Program - "Diversity Means..."
Entries Due Nov 1, 2011. Download flyer, entry and consent forms. (pdf)
The Reflections Program supports arts education in our schools by providing opportunities for students to express themselves through the arts. Students also receive recognition for their creativity. Students may take photographs, create paintings, drawings, prints, write sonnets, poems, short stories, compose a symphony, or write a song. Now, for the first time, students can also create a film or choreograph a dance routine that reflects the theme. This year's theme is "Diversity Means..." This contest is open to ALL students.
Students may choose to submit entries into more than one category if they wish. The categories this year are:
- Film/Video Production
- Dance Choreography
- Musical Composition
- Photography
- Visual Arts
- Literature
Grade divisions are as follows: Primary (Preschool–Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), Middle/Junior (Grades 6-8) and Senior (Grades 9-12).
Entries are submitted to the local PTA for judging. From the entries, selected works will be forwarded to the Orange County Council PTA for further judging. Entries are then selected to go to the State level and potentially the National PTA. This is a fabulous opportunity for our students. All entries will be due to the school by November 1.
